Mercendez Springer is a proud graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a degree is Mass Communications specializing in radio, television and film. As a New Jersey native, Mercendez now calls Atlanta Georgia home where she works as a freelance television producer for multiple unscripted series. Some of her credits include: The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Married to Medicine, The Rap Game, Wife Swap, The Real World, and Iyanla Fix My Life. As an active board member of The Black Women Film Network based in Atlanta, GA Mercendez organizes and facilities their annual film festival and summit to highlight up and coming filmmakers. With an eye for quality filmmaking Mercendez has launched her own personal YouTube channel “Chic Critiques” where she analyzes polarizing pictures to spark intellectual dialogue. With this platform she has created and hosted a “Let’s Talk” series of events at her alma mater to facilitate film making dialogue with the students of the Atlanta University Center. With panel discussions surrounding pictures like Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” Mercendez encourages her audience to comb through the layers of filmmaking and symbolism to understand the nuances of cinema. With a passion for film and television, Mercendez continues to use her platform to create, inspire and teach.
